Peristyle Arcade

Tucked away in the basement of Crystal Tower in Downtown Kuwait City, an undulating wall of skin-toned tetrahedrons folds inward, guiding visitors into an arcade dedicated to startup boutiques. Developed by Babnimnim, one of the leading commercial architecture firms in Kuwait, the project draws inspiration from Roman and Greek arcades—its name, Peristyle, referencing classical colonnades while subtly nodding to fashion. Custom brass lighting fixtures drop from a faceted ceiling, mimicking stalactites found in caves, and the solid outer walls are adorned with glass-reinforced gypsum in shades of nude. The minimalist glass storefronts stand in contrast, highlighting the space’s curated balance of structure and softness.
