Dar Hamad restaurant is meant to reintroduce Kuwaiti cuisine in a new yet familiar experience. Along this line, the exterior design concept has been inspired by the sandoog mubayyat; a wooden box usually presented to a new bride that contains her dowry.

This is reflected via an offset perforated metal ribbon structure emulating the exterior of the dowry box while veiling parts of the building. Simultaneously, other local traditional elements are accented in the design namely: old-style azure blue shutter windows and bab-bu-khokha (wooden entryway with metallic knocker).
